Students present research at the State Capitol
Four students represented OSU recently during Research Day at the State Capitol, which is designed to promote awareness of the outstanding research taking place in Oklahoma colleges and universities. Kelsie Brooks from Norman; Brandi Gallaher, Tulsa; Ashlee Keenum, Edmond; and Meagan Prouty, Oklahoma City, were selected to show their competitive scientific research posters during the annual event.
Brooks’ poster focused on respiratory syncytial virus research; Gallaher’s on modulation of host cell activation during infection; Keenum’s on tissue engineering for heart disease, and Prouty’s on mosquito-borne disease in Oklahoma.
Twenty three undergraduate students representing 17 Oklahoma colleges and universities presented competitive scientific research posters to the State Legislature and the public during the event, which is sponsored by Oklahoma EPSCoR, the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education and the National Science Foundation.
