Themostat settings for savings

To save utility dollars and energy during the cooling season in OSU Res Life areas, set A/C to “Auto” and “Cool” with a temperature setpoint of 74-78 degrees.  If leaving for the day or weekend and the area will be unoccupied, set thermostat to “auto” and 85 degrees.  At home, a programmable thermostat will do this for you to save time and energy.  While outdoor temperatures are mild, use ceiling fans in OSU Res Life areas instead of A/C, whenever possible.  For more info: www.okstate.edu/energy
