Third Botany graduate student awarded OK-LSAMP Bridge-to-Doctorate Fellowship.
Josh McLoud has been awarded a Bridge to Doctorate Fellowship from the Louis Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation, funded by the National Science Foundation to OSU. He will enter the Botany M.S. program this summer and work under Dr. Ming Yang in the area of cell and molecular biology.
Josh is the third student in Botany to enter this program, with Nicole Bryant working with Dr. David Meinke in plant molecular genetics and Molly Parkhurst working with Dr. Janette Steets in plant population genetics.
Students receive annual stipends and opportunities for professional development. These fellowships are highly competitive and support minority and first generation students pursuing degrees in the areas of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.
