What have you gained from your research experience?

I have been learning a lot about how technology can be used to accomplish tasks that would have been impossible in years past. As my project continues, I will transition from gathering and analyzing data to transferring this information into biological systems where specific hypotheses can be tested.

What has been your experience with the faculty you have been working with on the project?

My experiences with Dr. Clarke and the other members of his lab have been very positive. It is great to have a mentor who is willing to sit down and give you a one-on-one lecture about the biological importance behind the details of what we are doing in the lab.

How do you think this experience will prepare you for your chosen field after college?

The research I am part of will significantly help me as I pursue a career in medicine. Research and medicine certainly are interconnected, and I will be a more informed and balanced physician because of my research experiences.
