What have you gained from your research experience?
Personal growth is ultimately what I have gained through my experience for the research opportunity. My applicable research experiences range from weighting biomass to running gel electrophoresis in Dr. Doust’s phylogenetic lab, and presently studying the effect of triclosan on the symbiotic relationship between legumes and bradyrhizobium japonicum.
How important has this been to your college experience?
The experience has inspired me to continue my educational process in the Botany field here at OSU. I am a first generation college student which grew up in a rural area where the only person with a graduate degree was the high school principal.
How do you think this experience will prepare you for your chosen field after college?
The broader impacts of my future career in science include my ability to generate new knowledge and research programs, including outreach, in the field of Botany.
