Programs to outline undergraduate scholarship opportunities
Undergraduates interested in summer study in Cambridge, England, and/or undergraduate research in the Wentz program are invited to attend separate information sessions set for Monday and Tuesday, Nov. 12 and 13, in the Student Union.
Two of the most recent summer study trips to Cambridge, England will be showcased on Monday, Nov. 12, at 6:30 p.m. in the OSU Theater. For ten years OSU's summer study in Cambridge has been a very popular and successful outing for OSU undergraduates, with a variety of general education courses. Faculty and students will relate their impressions of the classes on trips including the "Sports, Literature, and the British Academy" in 2011, and "Traveling and Telling: Mobility and the Art of Narrative" in 2012.
Professor Doren Recker will preview next summer's offering at Cambridge, a 10th anniversary repeat of the first course on Charles Darwin, this one called "Darwin's Discovery, Formulation and Defense of his Theory," with photos Recker recently took on a trip to the Galapagos Islands.
The Wentz Research program for undergraduates will be overviewed on Tuesday, Nov. 13, at 6:30 pm. In Student Union case study 1, (fourth floor). Information will be provided on how good research proposals are written and how students and mentors can interact.
