OSU GARDINER GALLERY PRESENTS ART AND GRAPHIC DESIGN FACULTY EXHIBITION AND ART HISTORY ROUNDTABLE SERIES

The Gardiner Gallery at Oklahoma State University is pleased to announce that the annual Art and Graphic Design Faculty Exhibition will be on display from Sept. 30 through Oct. 25. The exhibition features recent work of full-time, adjunct and retired faculty of Oklahoma State University’s Department of Art. There will be an opening reception on Thursday, Oct. 3 at 5:00 p.m. at the Gardiner Gallery. The exhibition and all events are free and open to the public.

The Art and Graphic Design Faculty Exhibition features artwork representing the full spectrum of areas in studio art and design including traditional drawing, painting, sculpture, metal work, graphic design, video, and digital animation. The fine arts faculty members work as professional artists, involved in national and international exhibitions, while also serving as mentors to their students. This exhibition offers an opportunity for students to see the talents of their professors, who challenge and inspire them on a daily basis. The faculty members guide the students to find their own visual voice and inspire and nurture innovation and creativity. Meanwhile, these faculty artists are equally committed to sharing their insights with the general public.

In conjunction with this exhibition, the art history faculty and graduate students at the Department of Art will present a series of eight roundtable discussions from Sept.25, 2013 through April 23, 2014, highlighting their research achievements. Students and community members will learn about exciting topics from each presenter’s current publication and research projects. With the Art and Graphic Design Faculty Exhibition, this Roundtable Series will present the excellence in practice and scholarship recently achieved by all faculty members in the Department of Art. For more information about this series schedule, please visit museum.okstate.edu.

The Gardiner Gallery is fully accessible and located on the first floor of the Bartlett Center for the Visual Arts at the northwest corner of Morrill Avenue and South Knoblock Street. Gallery hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday; 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturdays. The gallery is closed for Sundays, University holidays, home football games and installation days.
