Get a good start on your academic journey and have some fun

The New Student Convocation will be held on Friday, Aug. 16, at 4 p.m. in Gallagher Iba Arena. Convocation is OSU's official welcome for all new students and marks the start of their academic journey. Students are strongly encouraged to first attend their College Spotlight Reception from 2 – 3:30 p.m. and accompany the faculty from the reception to the convocation. Attire is business casual. All students are invited to the Howdy Dance starting at 9 p.m. Friday. The dance, which has been popular since the Student Union's opening in the early 1950s, is moving under the stars at the SU Plaza for an evening of fun. It’s free and coordinated by the Student Union Activities Board, which will host several free movies and events throughout the semester.
