James G. Hromas recently received a Bennett Fellow award from the School of International Studies at Oklahoma State University. Hromas, a retired associate professor of marketing in the College of Business Administration (now the Spears School of Business), was also honored with a medallion recognizing him as the Lawrence L. Boger Professor of International Studies in the SIS department.

Hromas was the past director of International Education and Outreach (now International Studies and Outreach) and was responsible for directing the IE&O and School of International Studies programs at OSU.

“Dr. Hromas is a leader in international education who puts forth great effort to prepare students to lead in a diverse world,” said David Henneberry, associate vice president for International Studies and Outreach. “With his leadership in the global environment, expertise and innovative ideas, James is a great example of a Bennett Fellow and an international leader.”

Bennett Fellows are selected from a wide range of fields and disciplines including academe, business, government, the media, the military and the non-profit sector.

During Hromas’ tenure at IE&O, he provided leadership to the School of International Studies programs, and in internationalizing the OSU campus through strategies involving faculty, staff, and students along with community, state, national and international communities, explained Henneberry.
