Lenoir on panel for OETA forum

Dr. Brandon Lenoir (on right) with OSU is on this week's Oklahoma Forum panel.

Dr. Brandon Lenoir, a visiting assistant professor in political science at Oklahoma State University, is a panelist on this week’s edition of Oklahoma Forum on OETA, which will air throughout the week (click here for schedule). The panel discussion includes the midterm elections, 2016 presidential hopefuls, and the Oklahoma gubernatorial race.

Lenoir served as a political analyst with print and TV outlets while teaching at Dickinson College in Pennsylvania, often analyzing campaigns and discussing the political implications of current events. He received a doctorate in American Politics and Political Behavior from the University of Pittsburgh, where he taught several courses as an adjunct instructor.

Prior to returning to academia, Lenoir was an award-winning journalist, working seven years as a television anchor and political reporter covering politics in Illinois, Michigan and Pennsylvania. Some of his most notable stories came from covering the first gubernatorial campaign of former Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich, the 2004 Democratic presidential primary, a series on Michigan soldiers guarding terror suspects at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, and the Pennsylvania U.S. Senate race between Rick Santorum and Bob Casey.

Lenoir uses current events, political science research, his background in TV news, association work and time as a lobbyist in Washington, D.C., and experience managing political campaigns to create a dynamic learning environment for OSU students.

Specific areas of scholarly research for Lenoir include voter behavior, campaign strategy, and voter mobilization. He taught various courses on media and politics, the American political system, campaigns, and religion and politics at Dickinson College and the University of Pittsburgh.
