Miss OSU receives special recognition for talent at Miss Oklahoma

Miss Oklahoma State University Michelle Langford received over $5,000 in scholarships
and special recognition for her talent performance during the Miss Oklahoma Pageant.
Langford was a non-finalist talent award winner and received a newcomer talent award
during preliminary competition at the weeklong pageant in Tulsa, Okla. June 3-8.
Langford, a senior liberal arts student and Oklahoma City Thunder Girl, was named
Miss OSU 2013 last October. She competed for the title of Miss Oklahoma against 45
other young women from across the state. Langford's performance was a jazz dance routine
to “Don’t Rain on My Parade” and her platform was, “Get Advice: Creating a Healthy
Lifestyle.”
In addition, recent OSU graduate and former Cowboy Marching Band featured twirler
Aly Akers, received a preliminary talent award and was chosen for the Top 11. A total
of seven OSU students participated in the state scholarship pageant that includes
several areas of competition including interview, talent, and physical fitness in
swimsuit.
Miss Bricktown Kelsey Griswold was crowned Miss Oklahoma. Griswold, a Tulsa native,
will represent the state in the Miss America Pageant in Atlantic City on September
15, 2013.
