Mozart's “Requiem in D minor” this weekend
The OSU President's Masterworks concert, featuring the epic Mozart “Requiem in D minor,” will be presented on Saturday, March 2, at 8 p.m. and Sunday, March 3, at 2:30 p.m. at the Seretean Center for the Performing Arts. The 55-minute work is surrounded by mystery and intrigue, and was the music Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart was writing when he died on Dec. 5, 1791.
OSU voice faculty artists, Anne-Marie Condacse (soprano), April Golliver (mezzo-soprano) and David Malis (baritone) will be featured. Tenor Matthew Ogelsby, from Canyon Texas, will be singing the tenor arias. Guest youth singers from Guthrie High School, as well as the OSU University Singers, Concert Chorale and Symphony Orchestra will be performing, under the direction of Professor Douglas Droste.
Tickets are reserved ($10, and $7 for students and seniors), and can be purchased in the Department of Music office, or at the door. Contact the OSU Department of Music at (405) 744-6133, ext. 1, for updated information and box office hours.
