Nominate a deserving mentor for recognition

Individuals involved in various youth mentoring organizations are being invited to nominate their top mentor for recognition during Oklahoma Mentor Day at the State Capitol on Wednesday, Jan. 15.

 Mentors who’ve had a lasting impact on their mentees and organization will be recognized during the event and receive a certificate and a memento. The day is also an opportunity for mentors and their mentees to share fun and educational activities. 

The Oklahoma Foundation for Excellence and its David and Molly Boren Mentoring Initiative are sponsoring the second annual event. Each mentoring organization posted on the Boren Mentoring Initiative website directory is encouraged to submit its 2013 Outstanding Mentor for recognition. New groups are also invited to register as a mentoring organization. 

Students and faculty can nominate an outstanding mentor by submitting a completed application to the Service-Learning Volunteer Center in 211G Student Union.
