Oklahoma State University hosts lucky leprechaun glow run
Friday, March 1, 2013
The OSU Department of Wellness is featuring a 5K fun run through campus on March 14
at 9 p.m. to benefit Soles4Souls charity.
OSU prides itself in coming up with fun and creative ways to encourage healthy activities.
One way OSU does this is by offering different themed 5K runs.
“The lucky leprechaun glow run is an innovative and fun event for members of the OSU
community to be exposed to not only the 5K but also other activities offered through
the Department of Wellness,” said Jason Vlastaras, fitness coordinator at the Colvin
Recreation Center.
During the fall semester of 2012, the department held the midnight glow run 5K, which
was the first fun run allowed on the OSU campus at night. Participants could either
pay $10 or $5 and two canned goods to help stock the OSU food closet. The midnight
glow run raised 526 cans of food. The lucky leprechaun run hopes to build on the success
of the midnight glow run.
