OSU Humanities Conference – Call for Papers
The English Graduate Student Association (EGSA) is issuing a call for papers for the annual OSU Humanities Conference, set for March 1 and 2 in Stillwater. The theme of the conference is “Bridging Disciplines & Communities” an interdisciplinary approach which encourages conversations between graduate students from multiple areas within the humanities and other disciplines.
Call for Papers
The conference theme "Bridging Disciplines & Communities" is focused around four subthemes:
Language, Culture, and Performance
This subtheme focuses on how communication is influenced by our perceptions of language and our understanding of culture. We also welcome submissions of original creative works.
Genre, Discourse, and Interaction
This subtheme focuses on "genre" in its multiple disciplinary meanings, including workplace genres and theories around creative, visual, written, and spoken genres. Further, this category seeks to understand how genres create and shape theoretical and practical interactions.
Digital Humanities
Technology influences modern theory and practice in the Humanities and related disciplines. We welcome submissions on a variety of topics, including multimodality, visual rhetoric, and digital composition.
Pedagogy
Pedagogical issues unite a variety of areas within the Humanities and related disciplines, including, but not limited to, curriculum development and innovation, classroom technology, and ways of reaching varied student populations.
