OSU Service-Learning Volunteer Center

The Oklahoma State University Service-Learning Volunteer Center, formerly known as the OSU Volunteer Center, has placed OSU students in community service settings since its beginning in 1984. Its mission is to provide leadership to OSU students by offering interactive and meaningful service activities, providing  opportunities for research, and connecting with society to promote the general welfare of its citizens.

By participating in SLVC activities OSU students gain hands-on experience, help save lives and develop human resource skills. While enriching lives around them, and networking with others, students are finding their passion, making friends, building resumes and having fun.

Focus areas include advocacy, domestic violence, education, elderly, environment, financial literacy, homelessness, hunger, literacy, safety and much more.

Outstanding volunteers are recognized for their community service with an honorary orange cord at graduation.  Students may apply for the CORD celebrating 400 hours of service for undergraduates and 300 hours of service for graduates by joining the SLVC at campuslink.okstate.edu.

Service is one of six pillars at Oklahoma State University.  All OSU students are encouraged to take advantage of service to the community opportunities while at OSU.  More information is available at the Service-Learning Volunteer Center, 211G Student Union, 744-5145.
