“Oklahoma Voices is a stunning celebration of the resilience and grit of Oklahomans past and present. it is a brand new performance piece drawn from oral histories and interviews of the people who settled on this land,” said Director Jodi Jinks.
Come behind the scenes with people who were there for these pivotal events in Oklahoma history. See the theatrically recreated stories of rugged individualism from the voices of freedman, pioneer women, homesteaders, and Native Americans, among others.
Bob Lemon OSU Alumni (‘51) had a vision. Tell the stories from Oklahoma’s rugged oral histories… the things not covered in text books or other written histories. Utilize the creative minds of Jinks, OSU’s assistant professor of theatre and working professional, as well as Dr. Maria Beach, director of graduate studies and assistant professor of theatre history, literature and criticism. Add the talents of skilled technical artists and an eager student body, titillated by original theatrical work, and the theatre piece will reflect the uniquely Oklahoman legacy of hardship, courage and hope not yet told by other story tellers.
