OSU Wind Ensemble Concert
The Oklahoma State University Wind Ensemble will present the first concert of the fall semester Tuesday, Oct, 1, at 7:30 p.m. in the Seretean Center for the Performing Arts Concert Hall. Dr. Joseph Missal is conductor of the group.
The ensemble will perform "Trauersinfonie" by Richard Wagner, "Symphony in B flat"
by Paul Hindemith, "Harvest Concerto for Trombone" by John Mackey, and "Starry Crown"
by Donald Grantham. Paul Compton, associate professor of trombone will be the featured
soloist.
Composed of the finest graduate and undergraduate wind and percussion performers at
the university, the ensemble is dedicated to the performance of the finest wind literature
regardless of the period or disposition of instrumental forces.
The OSU Wind Ensemble recently performed as the featured international ensemble at
the Japan Band Clinic in Hamamatsu City in May. They have been selected as the large
university honor band for the 2014 Oklahoma Music Educators Association in Tulsa.
Admission to the concert is $8 for adults and $6 for students and senior citizens.
