Phi Beta Delta announces induction of new members

Wednesday, December 11, 2013

Twenty Oklahoma State University students, faculty and staff were inducted into the Epsilon Upsilon chapter of Phi Beta Delta on Nov. 20 in Stillwater.

Founded at OSU in 2003 with sixty members, Epsilon Upsilon now boasts over 250 members who strive to recognize international achievement, promote exchange of ideas within international activities and encourage interdisciplinary international programming.

“This is a group of people whose interests take us to a variety of destinations around the world, fostering the land-grant mission for research and service on a global scale,” said Jeff Simpson, Phi Beta Delta, Epsilon Upsilon Chapter coordinator.

Phi Beta Delta is the first honor society focusing on the recognition of scholarly development and work within international education. Its history traces back to the 18th century when it was first named Phi Beta Kappa. Currently, 190 chapters have been chartered around the world.
