More than sixty films and a Hollywood panel of producers and directors are among the highlights of the Red Dirt International Film Festival in Stillwater and on the OSU campus this Friday and Saturday, Oct. 25-26.

A panel, comprised of Hollywood and television film producers/directors is set for Friday from 2 – 4 p.m. in room 108 of the Noble Research Center. The headliner of this group is the Oscar-winning producer of the Godfather Trilogy, Apocalypse Now, and The Outsiders—Gray Frederickson. The panel will include a Q and A session. The public is invited to all festival events.

Films will show throughout both days at various locations on campus and in the Stillwater community. Click on the following link for the complete film schedule or go to www.reddirtfilmfestival.org.  The films are grouped together into like-blocks of time, up to 2  1/2 hr. slots. Each programming block is $5 if ordered online. At the door they are $6 each, or $5 for students/military/senior citizens 65 yrs. or older .

A “Star Strut” on Saturday from 11 – 1p.m. invites participants to dress as their favorite movie character and strut from the east of the library lawn through the S.U. Formal Gardens and down to Theta Pond.  Donations are appreciated to benefit the local Payne County CASA chapter, with 100 percent of the proceeds going to the charity.

The OSU Edmon Low Library will host an awards ceremony starting at 8 p.m. on Saturday, which will recognize many of the filmmakers and their works, some of which are represented by visiting international filmmakers!
