Retired general to speak on Oklahoma women role models

The Women's Resource Center is hosting guest speaker Rita Aragon, a retired United States Air National Guard two-star general, who will speak on the theme “Wonder Women” on Tuesday, Nov. 12, at 5 p.m. in the Sequoyah Room at the Student Union.

Aragon, who currently serves as the first female Veteran Affairs Secretary, was inducted into the Oklahoma Women's Hall of Fame for her pioneering accomplishments in 2009. She will discuss outstanding Oklahoma women who persevered in a male-dominated society to become role models for later generations.

Aragon holds the distinction of becoming the first female to hold the rank of Brigadier General in the Oklahoma National Guard and the first female commander of the Oklahoma Air National Guard.
