This week at the Jerry Davis Studio in Gundersen Hall.

OSU Theatre presents “The Language of Trees” this week

The Oklahoma State University Department of Theatre will present Steven Levenson’s  intimate and heart-wrenching “The Language of the Trees” with performances Wednesday through Saturday, Oct. 23 – 26, at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, Oct. 27, at 2:30 p.m. in the Jerry Davis Studio Theatre in Gundersen Hall on the OSU campus.

Directed by graduate student Steven DeLoose, this haunting and impressionistic production tells the story of a translator embedded with U.S. forces in the Middle East who goes missing, while his wife and child at home try to come to grips with the situation. This contemporary play is relevant to the Stillwater community, as it examines the effects of deployment on those who stay home. Called a “semi-surreal heart-tugger” by Time Out NY, “The Language of Trees” (first produced 2008) offers a meditation on love, loss, and the difficulty of communicating.

Tickets are “first come first serve” at the theatre, doors open one hour in advance of start time. Gundersen Hall is located at the corner of Morrill Avenue and Hester Street on the OSU campus, just north of the ConocoPhillips Alumni Center.
