Senior Capstone Exhibit starts Wednesday

The Senior Studio Capstone Exhibition, celebrating the achievements of six current senior art students, opens Wednesday, Nov. 20, and runs through Dec. 6 in the Gardiner Art Gallery on the first floor of the Bartlett Center at the corner of Morrill Ave. and Knoblock St.  The various works of art on display will demonstrate the time of reflection, analysis, study, critical thinking and communications skills of the artists who will graduate in December. An opening reception will be held in the gallery from 5 – 7  p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 21, featuring short talks from each student artist. 

In addition to the exhibit, the art history faculty and graduate students at the Department of Art is presenting a series of roundtable discussions through April 23, 2014, highlighting their research achievements. Students and community members will learn about exciting topics from each presenter’s current publication and research projects. The Gardiner Gallery is fully accessible and located on the first floor of the Bartlett Center for the Visual Arts at the northwest corner of Morrill Avenue and South Knoblock Street. Gallery hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday; 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturdays. The gallery is closed for Sundays, university holidays, home football games and installation days.
