Consider Healthy Pokes program for the family
Healthy Pokes is a group-based program to help families develop and maintain healthy lifestyle behaviors for youths between the ages of 8-18 years and their parent(s) or caregiver(s). Healthy Pokes will offer 8-weekly sessions that last about 90 minutes each. Youths and their caregivers or parents participate in separate group sessions on the same day, so that content can be tailored to each group. Sessions include setting and assessing healthier lifestyle goals, nutrition education, exercise education, and strategies to keep on track with goals. Dr. Christopher Cushing, a faculty member in the OSU Department of Psychology will head the program.
