BALANCE (BUILDING A LIFESTYLE ON ACTIVITY, NUTRITION, CONFIDENCE AND ENERGY) is designed for OSU faculty and staff with risk factors for Metabolic Syndrome. The program is highly individualized to help develop and maintain healthy lifestyles and achieve optimal levels of health and fitness through nutrition, physical activity and lifestyle modification.

METABOLIC SYNDROME RISK FACTORS:
Elevated Waist Circumference: men ≥ 40 inches, women ≥ 35 inches
Elevated Triglycerides: ≥150 mg/dl or receiving treatment
Reduced HDL-C: men ≤ 40 mg/dl, women ≤ 50 mg/dl or receiving treatment
Elevated Blood Pressure: ≥130 mm Hg systolic blood pressure, ≥ 85 mm Hg diastolic blood pressure or receiving treatment
Elevated Fasting Glucose: ≥100 mg/dl or receiving treatment
