Special Olympic State Games at OSU

Welcome athletes!

The 44th annual Oklahoma Special Olympics Summer Games are being held on campus through Friday.

The games are among the largest in the country with 4,626 athletes registered to compete. The theme this year is "Dance, Dance, Dance."

There will be over 150 teams staying in the halls. We will also be housing volunteers in Village E and Stout Hall, and families in KPF. Certain parking lots and roads will be closed during this period of time as well (read below).

Thank you for your help in making the athletes, coaches, families, and volunteers feel welcome in the halls and on campus.

Streets on OSU campus to close for Oklahoma Special Olympics

Hall of Fame Avenue and Farm Road will be closed between the streets of Walnut and Lincoln during the Oklahoma Special Olympics State Summer Games being hosted by Oklahoma State University in Stillwater Wednesday, May 8 through Friday, May 10.  Also being closed during the same time period will be the portion of Cleveland Street from The Village apartments to Hall of Fame.

The roads will be closed from 7:45 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday and Thursday.  On Friday, the roads will be closed starting at 7:45 a.m.  The games end at noon Friday and roads are expected to be back open by mid-afternoon.

In addition, parking lot 74, directly north of the Colvin Center, will be reserved for use by Special Olympics attendees only from Wednesday through Friday.

OSU reminds employees and students that while it is hosting the Special Olympics parking might be limited around the hosted areas in and around campus.  During the games all student lots are considered overflow to allow anyone with a valid OSU parking permit to use those lots.
