The Oklahoma State University College of Education will host the 2014 Robert B. Kamm Lecture in Higher Education on Monday, February 17.  Dr. Greg Blimling of the Rutgers University Graduate School of Education will examine the important topic of college student retention during his keynote, “The Keys to the Wisdom Box: Increasing College Student Retention and Graduation through Engagement and Involvement.” The 22nd edition of the lecture begins at 10:30 a.m. in the Willard Hall room 010 and is open to the public. It also will be streamed live on http://www.OState.tv.

Currently a professor at Rutgers, Blimling has also served the university as Vice President for Student Affairs. Previously, Blimling was Vice Chancellor for Student Development and Professor of Human Development and Psychological Counseling at Appalachian State University, and Dean of Students at Louisiana State University. He is the author of six books about college students and an extensive number of articles, book chapters, and other scholarly contributions. His newest book, Student Learning in College Residence Halls: What Works, What Doesn’t and Why, is to be published by Jossey-Bass/Wiley Publishing in 2015.

The Kamm Lecture is named for Robert B. Kamm, Oklahoma State University President from 1966-1977, who served the university for more than 45 years. Annually, this event serves as a policy-impacting lecture that brings higher education leaders, private and public sector leaders together to examine important issues in higher education.
