Aquila Theatre performs author Ray Bradbury’s famous novel
A literary classic, “Fahrenheit 451,” is being brought to life as OSU Allied Arts
welcomes Aquila Theatre to the Seretean Center Concert Hall on the OSU campus on Friday,
Mar. 7 at 8 p.m. While the production is based on Ray Bradbury’s visionary parable
of a society gone awry, Aquila Theatre brings an innovative and modern theatric touch
                     to the classic.
Aquila Theatre will also conduct a physical theatre Masterclass from 1:30 p.m. to
3 p.m. on Friday, Mar. 7, in the OSU Student Union Theater. The workshop is free and
open to OSU theater students and advanced high school theater students on a first-come
basis. Students interested in attending can contact Allied Arts at alliedarts@okstate.edu.
In addition to the performance, Stillwater Public Library and Edmon Low Library have
partnered with Allied Arts for a program called, “One Book, One Community.” The libraries
are giving away copies of “Fahrenheit 451” and encouraging the community to read the
book together in preparation of the performance on Mar. 7.
Brandon Mitts, Allied Arts & Special Events manager, said the libraries are doing
a great job working together and promoting the Aquila Theatre performance.
“The libraries are really getting the community excited about the event,” Mitts said.
“It’s great to see the community reading the book together, because Aquila Theatre
is really based on these amazing works of literature.”
