Chick-fil-A partners with Bennett Jam to help young cancer patient

Wednesday, March 26, 2014

Ainsley and her little brother George.
Chick-fil-A is partnering with the Bennett Jam to donate a portion of the proceeds from meals on Thursday, March 27, from 5 to 7 p.m. to help the family of 4-year-old Ainsley Peters pay for her medical bills and home renovations related to her cancer treatment.

Everyone who eats at the Chick-fil-A on Hall of Fame and Perkins during that two-hour period can help by simply leaving their meal receipt in a box located at the register counter. Chick-fil-A will donate a portion of the money it received from the sale of each meal to the Bennett Jam to benefit the Peters Family.

Each year, residents at Bennett Hall, on the Oklahoma State University campus, choose a member of the Stillwater community to receive the donations collected from a fundraising concert called the Bennett Jam. Ainsley was diagnosedwith leukemia last August. Her father, Chris Peters, works at Orange Tech at OSU.

Bennett Jam representatives are seeking additional corporate sponsors for the fundraiser. Individuals can also help by donating at the concert, which is set for the front lawn of Bennett Hall on Tuesday, April 8, starting at 5 p.m.  The Jake Murphy Band is scheduled to perform. Residents at Bennett Hall are seeking additional bands and volunteers to help at the event.

For more information on Bennett Jam and ways to donate, contact Bennett Hall residents Whitney Roten at wiroten@okstate.edu or Catherine Wilson at catherine.wilson@okstate.edu.
