Eskimo Joe's, Spears School of Business team up on historic 100th Anniversary T-shirt
Wednesday, April 9, 2014
The Spears School of Business is partnering with world famous Eskimo Joe’s to create a T-shirt that is celebrating 100 years of business education at Oklahoma State University.
The design, created by Eskimo Joe’s artist Mike Staubus, features Eskimo Joe, Buffy and Pistol Pete riding in a 1914 Cadillac, which has been converted into a futuristic hovercraft, gliding over the school.
“It was a pleasure working with Spears School alum Stan Clark and the talented Mike Staubus on the centennial shirt project,” said Ken Eastman, interim dean of the Spears School. “They came up with what we expected from Eskimo Joe’s, a fun and exciting design. The shirt is a great way for all of our family and friends to celebrate our 100th birthday.”
Printed on a light gray short-sleeve shirt in adult sizes S-3XL, the Spears School of Business 100th Anniversary T-shirt is now available at Eskimo Joe’s Clothes World Headquarters in Stillwater and at its Woodland Hills Mall store in Tulsa. It may also be ordered by phone at 1-800-256-JOES or online at http://shop.eskimojoes.com/browse.cfm/4,4362.html.
“We were all-in when approached about creating the design, especially because the majority of our senior leadership at Stan Clark Companies are graduates of the business college,” said Stan Clark, CEO and Founder of Eskimo Joe’s. “We’re proud to partner with the Spears School as they reach this milestone.”
In addition to the historic T-shirt, the Spears School is planning a series of events so that alumni, students and friends can participate throughout the year.
Events begin with the 100th Anniversary Golf Classic at Karsten Creek on Aug. 8. On the weekend of Sept. 5-6, special tours, an open house of the Business Building, groundbreaking for the new business building, the 100th Anniversary reception and a tailgate prior to Saturday’s football game are planned. The final celebration event will be the “Spears School Tribute: 100 For 100” dinner scheduled Nov. 7.
“This is a great time to be associated with the Spears School of Business as we celebrate our 100th anniversary,” Eastman said. “This centennial celebration is meaningful because it marks the confluence of the past, present and future. Our wish is that many from the past – students, faculty and staff – will re-engage with us as we mark the beginning of a new century in high quality, engaging and accessible business education.”
