OSU Brass Day
Join talented guest artists and Oklahoma State University faculty and students for OSU Brass Day on Saturday, Feb. 1, at the Seretean Center for the Performing Arts. Brass players of any age and expertise, including band directors and members of the community, will have the opportunity to play and attend master classes and performances by esteemed artists for only $15 for the day or $8 to attend only the afternoon guest artist concert.
Featured artists for the day include trombonist Jim Pugh, professor of jazz studies at the University of Illinois; trumpeter Craig Morris, professor of trumpet and chair of the brass program at the University of Miami, Frost School of Music, and Stockton Helbing, current drummer for Doc Severinsen's band. Morris is a world-renowned orchestral trumpeter who served as principal trumpet for the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. Pugh was lead trombonist for Woody Herman’s Thundering Herd as well as Chick Corea’s Return to Forever Band. The pair will headline the guest artist concert at 2:30 p.m.
Registration for Brass Day starts at 8 a.m. Saturday and the OSU Faculty Brass Quintet will kick off the day’s performances with a concert at 9 a.m.

OSU Brass Day is sponsored by the Fae Rawdon Norris Endowment for the Humanities, the Atherton Hotel, Saied Music Company, and the OSU Department of Music.
Tickets for the entire day are $15 at the door. For the guest artist concert (2:30 p.m.) only, tickets will be $8 general admission and $6 for students and senior citizens.
