Wednesday, February 26, 2014

You're invited!

The Korean Student Association will offer traditional food, dance and fashion with a variety of musical entertainment for Korean Night 2014 set for Sunday, March 2, at 5 p.m. in the Wes Watkins Center.

The event will showcase Korean culture, starting with an authentic dinner of Korean food, such as Korean barbecue, steamed rice, spicy pickled cabbage called kimchi and stir fried noodles with vegetables known as japchae.

Musical acts, including various K-pop performances and samul nori, a traditional Korean music, will follow dinner. A fashion show featuring Korean costumes known as handboks, a taekwondo exhibition, and a traditional Korean dance performance are also among the evening’s highlights.

Jooyoung Kwak, vice president of the Korean Student Association, is excited to give people the opportunity to learn more about Korean traditions. "Korean Night is a festive event that will highlight a variety of Korean culture," Kwak said. "We are very happy to share our culture through some fantastic performances and great food."

Tickets are being sold daily through Friday, Feb. 28, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Chi-O clock for $8. Tickets are also available at the door the night of the event for $10. Tickets can be reserved prior to the event and picked up at the door.
