Longtime OSU director to retire
Dr. Charles W. Bruce will retire from Oklahoma State University in July after serving 33 years as the director of scholarships and financial aid. His retirement party will be held June 11.
Bruce’s efforts have ensured that over 500,000 students received $4.2 billion in financial assistance during his tenure. He also successfully competed for the first federal TRIO grant program, Upward Bound, award to OSU and followed three years later with a grant for the Educational Talent Search Program. These programs help first-generation junior high and high school students from low-income households pursue postsecondary education.
Bruce served on multiple committees and coalitions for education and student financial aid, where he also received state, regional and national awards for his service.
