OSU announces top 10 ideas in app contest

The Oklahoma State University App Center has announced the names of the top 10 ideas
from the teams involved in the 2014-15 app competition, which is currently underway.
The panel of judges from AAA Oklahoma selected the 10 as the most promising mobile
device software ideas to advance to the next round in Phase I of the competition.
Phase I Top 10 App Ideas (in no particular order)
· EcoTell
· The Earthquake Intelligence Mobile App
· Fitness Telematics
· Car2Car
· Safe Drive
· Penny Wise
· Future Insurance
· Drive to win!
· Smart Device 4 your home
· Arrive Alive
The next step, for the winning teams, is to submit an idea storyboard and participate
in an elevator pitch. The storyboard submissions deadline is this Thursday, Nov. 20.
The elevator pitches are set for Monday, Nov. 24, starting at 10 a.m., when each team
will be given five minutes to present an overview (elevator pitch) of its app to a
panel of judges, followed by two minutes of questions.
The two winning app ideas will be announced after the elevator pitch presentations.
The top 10 ideas will receive $500, and the top two will receive an additional $750.
The public is invited to attend the announcement, to learn more about the winning
app ideas.
The Phase II - "Best Developed App" of the competition is open to individuals with
programming skills to develop a functional prototype or working model of a selected
app. The teams in the second phase will select one of the top two winning app ideas
from the first phase of the contest and develop the prototype. Team registration for
Phase II opens on Monday, Dec. 1.
