OSU faculty and staff recognized by Young Professionals of Stillwater

Several OSU faculty and staff members were recently recognized as Emerging Leaders Under 40 by the Young Professionals of Stillwater for making a difference professionally, civically and personally.
“These OSU faculty and staff members contribute extensively to their chosen field, they donate their time and focus to philanthropic efforts and serve within local nonprofit organizations,” said Roberta Douglas, board chair-elect of the Young Professionals of Stillwater. “These individuals make a difference in lives every day; the Young Professionals of Stillwater are honored to recognize their contributions.”
Ten young professionals were chosen the Top 10 Emerging Leaders in the Stillwater community. Of the 10 chosen, five were OSU employees:
- Shawna Goodwin, assistant manager of museum operations, OSU Museum of Art
- Dave Shideler, associate professor, agricultural economics
- Angela Vivar, coordinator, Retention Initiative for Student Excellence Program
- Mindy Walthall, senior event coordinator, OSU Career Services
- Mark Wilkins, associate professor, biosystems and agricultural engineering
“It was a great honor to be recognized as an emerging leader in Stillwater,” Wilkins said. “OSU has provided me with many opportunities to serve and provide leadership. I am grateful for the recognition and I will seek to continue to serve OSU and Stillwater.”
