The OSU Theatre Department is proud to announce its 2014-2015 main stage shows that guarantee a season of love and danger, ranging from a journey to the underworld to the blockbuster musical “Cabaret.”

Tickets have been drastically discounted, and if you buy season tickets now, you’ll get four shows for the price of three—only $32 for general admission and just $20 for OSU students and senior citizens—for the whole season. See the season’s brochure and purchase tickets online at http://theatre.okstate.edu.

The first offering for the fall 2014 semester is “Eurydice” who dies on her wedding day . . . or does she?  Journey with her to the underworld where only memory is lost and her love Orpheus seeks to find! Written by Sarah Ruhl and directed by Jodi Jinks, performances are Oct. 9-11 at 7:30 p.m.; October 12 at 2:30 pm; October 16-17, at 7:30 p.m.; and October 18, at 2:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.

Next, return with us to an audience favorite, “As You Like It,” by William Shakespeare, and directed by Andrew Kimbrough, the new head of the OSU Theatre Department. Join Rosalind, Orlando, and the rest of the motley crew as they flee tyranny and seek love in the magical Forest of Arden with performances Nov. 20-22 at 7:30 p.m. and Nov. 23 at 2:30 p.m.

The spring 2015 semester blooms with suspense in “The 39 Steps,” adapted by Patrick Barlow from the Alfred Hitchcock movie of the same name, and directed by Lloyd Caldwell.  Richard Hannay is pursued by killers and doesn’t know why. Hilarity ensues! Performances are March 5-7 at 7:30 p.m. and March 8 at 2:30 p.m.

The final offering of the season is the blockbuster musical “Cabaret,” with music by John Kander, based on the book by Joe Masteroff, lyrics by Fred Ebb, and directed by B. Peter Westerhoff.  This award-winning musical is set in Berlin in 1931. Germany is in the midst of the Depression and the Nazis are on the rise. But “life is a Cabaret, old chum!” in the notorious Kit Kat Klub. Performances are April 22-25 at 7:30 p.m. and April 26 at 2:30 p.m.

The general admission price for “Eurydice,” “As You Like It,” and “The 39 Steps” is $10 per show.  OSU students and senior citizens are $7 per show. The general admission price for “Cabaret” is $12. OSU students and senior citizens are $10.
