OSU Wind Ensemble in Concert Thursday

With soloist Dr. Meredith Blecha-Wells
The Oklahoma State University Wind Ensemble will present its first concert of the spring semester Thursday, Feb. 20, at 7:30 p.m. in the concert hall of the Seretean Center for the Performing Arts.
Repertoire for the performance includes “Toccata Marziale” by Ralph Vaughan Williams, “Gone” by Scott McAllister, “Duende” by Luis Serrano Alarcon, and “Danzon No. 2” by Arturo Marquez. OSU Assistant Professor of Cello, Dr. Meredith Blecha-Wells, will join the group as soloist in “Tramonto” also by Alarcon. Blecha-Wells holds degrees from Indiana University and the Eastman School of Music and is a member of the Oklahoma City Philharmonic.
Composed of the finest graduate and undergraduate wind and percussion students at the university, the ensemble is dedicated to the performance of the finest wind literature, regardless of the period or disposition of forces. The ensemble is directed by Dr. Joseph Missal, conductor.
