The School of Accounting in the Spears School of Business will celebrate three exceptional graduates as Distinguished Alumni at the 2014 Wilton T. Anderson Hall of Fame and Awards Banquet on April 17.

The Hall of Fame was established in 1979 to recognize Oklahoma State University School of Accounting graduates who have achieved exceptional success in professional and academic accounting. The Hall of Fame is dedicated to Wilton T. Anderson, who is considered the founding father of OSU’s School of Accounting. It is the highest honor the School of Accounting can bestow on an alumnus.

This year’s inductees into the Wilton T. Anderson Hall of Fame are Vickie Carr, Partner with Deloitte’s Tax practice in Dallas; Mike Keys, Partner with KPMG’s Audit practice in Denver, and Alan Tye, retired ExxonMobil executive.

Robert Cornell, the head of the School of Accounting, is delighted to announce this year’s outstanding graduates at the event.

“We are excited to honor three of our very best who serve as examples of extraordinary achievement through their commitments to excellence, ethical business practices and integrity,” Cornell said. “We thank each for their willingness to serve as examples to our students of what is possible after earning degrees in accounting at OSU.”

Paige Walker, president of the Chi Chapter of Beta Alpha Psi, is inspired by the success and generosity of the honorees.

“As I complete my studies in the School of Accounting, it is encouraging to see the successful careers of these three alumni,” Walker said. “Each used their education and their experiences at OSU to benefit the accounting profession and give back to the School of Accounting. As I observe their success and dedication to students like me, I am hopeful to have the same type of impact in my life and career.”

Ken Eastman, interim dean of the Spears School, is pleased with the School of Accounting’s choice of alumni to honor.

“Once again, the School of Accounting will induct an impressive group of alumni into its Hall of Fame,” Eastman said. “Not only have all three excelled in their careers but they are also outstanding individuals. In addition, all three have been very loyal alums who have supported us in many ways. We are pleased to honor them in this way and look forward to continuing our relationships with them.”

Each year the School of Accounting recognizes students and alumni at the Wilton T. Anderson Hall of Fame Banquet. As the “father” of the School of Accounting at OSU, Anderson established the highest expectations for graduates of the School of Accounting. In his honor, this event is used to showcase outstanding students just beginning their careers, to express appreciation to those who have provided scholarship support to help these students succeed, and to recognize exceptional alumni who have made significant positive impacts on accounting practices throughout their careers.
