Students earn NSF fellowship awards
Three Oklahoma State University students from the College of Arts and Sciences have earned awards from the National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship Program. Michael Powers from Bowling Green, Ky.; Kaati Schreier, Lacrosse, Wisc., and Ashley Love, Stillwater, are recipients of the prestigious award.
The GRFP recognizes and supports outstanding graduate students in the NSF-supported science, technology, engineering, and mathematics disciplines who are pursuing research-based master’s and doctoral degrees at accredited U.S. institutions.
GRFP Fellows receive three years of support, a $32,000 annual stipend, $12,000 cost-of-education allowance to the institution, international research and professional development opportunities, and XSEDE supercomputer access.
Schreier’s graduate emphasis in zoology is organismal biology, Love is studying physiology as a zoology grad student, and Powers is focusing on sedimentary geology. Bill Mausbach (ecology) earned honorable mention status.
The NSF received over 14,000 applications and made 2,000 fellowship award offers this year.
