Veterinary Voices to discuss Urinary Stones in Small Ruminants

Tuesday, February 25, 2014

Oklahoma State University’s Center for Veterinary Health Sciences will host a Veterinary Voices seminar on Thursday, March 6, at 7 p.m. in McElroy Hall on the OSU Stillwater campus.  Discussing “Urinary Stones in Small Ruminants” will be Dr. Melanie Boileau, an associate professor of Food Animal Medicine and Surgery in the Department of Veterinary Clinical Sciences at the center’s Veterinary Medical Hospital.

Urinary stones are a common problem among small ruminants (sheep and goats).  Dr. Boileau will share information about predisposing factors for urinary stones, how to recognize a blocked sheep or goat; the treatment options available and most importantly, the measures that can be taken to prevent this condition.

Veterinary Voices seminars are open to the public at no charge.  Complimentary parking and light refreshments will be available.  McElroy Hall is located on the corner of McFarland and West Farm Road in Stillwater.
