Off-Broadway group, Rhythmic Circus, makes tour stop in Stillwater

Friday, November 13, 2015

Audience members of all ages will enjoy the outrageous combination of rapid-fire tap dance talent, vibrant vocal percussion and big brass funk band music that Rhythmic Circus will bring to town on Nov. 20 at 8 p.m. in the Seretean Center Concert Hall.  Stopping in Stillwater on its third national “Feet Don’t Fail Me Now!” tour, Rhythmic Circus provides an upbeat, dynamic tap and musical performance.

Home-grown hoofers from the Minneapolis arts scene, the performers of Rhythmic Circus showcase an inspired, energized explosion of music, arts and culture. Under the direction of two key members, the “Feet Don’t Fail Me Now!” performance was artistically choreographed to mix hard-hitting percussive dance with a live rock band. With a mission to inspire creativity and culture, this performance will enthrall audiences of all ages with its medley of positivity and infectious rhythm.

Brandon Mitts, Arts, Culture and Entertainment manager, is extremely excited about bringing Rhythmic Circus to Stillwater. “This will be a hugely entertaining performance. Rhythmic Circus concerts are full of energy, theater, humor and flawless technique,” Mitts said. “This should be a sellout because there is something for everyone. If a person likes dance, acapella, comedy, jazz or music in general, they will love this. This event will also be a great inspiration for the young performing artists in the area.”

Tickets for the performance are $22 for adults and $10 for children 12 and under. Tickets can be purchased online at tickets.okstate.edu or by phone at 405-744-7509. Tickets will also be available at the Seretean Center Concert Hall the evening of the performance beginning at 6:30. Doors open at 7:30 p.m.

The Rhythmic Circus performance is the third installment in the 2015-2016 OSU Allied Arts series. For decades the OSU Allied Arts office has brought top-notch talent to the Oklahoma State University campus. The Allied Arts office seeks to enrich the lives of students through the arts.
