Dance expert to offer lecture and workshop at OSU

Rulan Tanger, founding artistic director and choreographer of Dancing Theatre Indigenous Contemporary Dance Creations, will offer a free lecture and workshop at Oklahoma State University on April 1 and 2.
Tanger will speak on “Historical Influences of Indigenous Contemporary Dance” and screen a short film on Wednesday, April 1, at 7 p.m. in the Davis Studio Theatre (Gunderson Hall, room 203). The lecture will be followed by an informal meet-and-greet with the director and light refreshments will be served.
Tanger will also conduct a contemporary movement and dance workshop on Thursday, April 2, at 3:30 p.m. in the Davis Theatre. While no experience is necessary, space is limited for the workshop and RSVP is encourage by calling (405) 744-6094.
Both events are free and open to the public as part of the OSU College of Arts and Sciences Humanities Speaker Series. Tanger’s visit is sponsored by the OSU Department of Theatre and the OSU Native American Faculty and Staff Association.
