Go behind the greens of OSU’s picturesque landscape

Wednesday, June 3, 2015

Oklahoma State University features a picturesque landscape, whether it’s a cowboy hat-shaped topiary, unique trees and shrubsor decorative flowers that blanket the Formal Gardens. The first-ever ‘Behind the Scenes of OSU Campus Beautification’ event offers community members the chance to learn about the campus landscape as well as tricks they can use at home from the people who maintain OSU’s grounds.

The program, scheduled for June 27, includes educational seminars, plant trial opportunities, refreshments, behind-the-scene tours and gardening experts.

Steve Dobbs, landscape services manager, says this is a great way to get information and learn directly from landscape professionals.

“As Oklahoma’s premier land grant college, OSU should be a place where gardening enthusiasts can come to see and learn about plants that can be used in their home landscapes,” said Dobbs. “With the recent campus beautification improvements over the past five years, there are plenty of new plants and designs to do just that.”

Online pre-registration is $20 and closes June 23, but there will be registration the day of the program for $30.

To pre-register, visit www.agconferences.okstate.edu and click on the OSU Marketplace link. For more information, contact Ag Conferences at (405) 744-6489.
