Mortar Board initiates new members
Friday, April 17, 2015
The Oklahoma State University Mortar Board recently initiated 46 students into the Achafoa chapter. Mortar Board is a national honor society for college students that recognizes superior scholastic ability, outstanding and continual leadership, and dedicated service to the college or university community.
Six young women founded OSU’s chapter in 1930 and named I Achafoa, which is a Choctaw word for “a few rare and precious ones.”
For more information on Mortar Board, contact Emily Martin at emily.martin@okstate.edu. For more information on a specific student, contact OSU Communications at 405-744-6260.
