Oklahoma State receives Champion of Health award

Oklahoma State University received the 2015 Champion of Health award in the Corporate Category during the Champions of Health Gala Tuesday night at the Cox Business Center in Tulsa. 

The Champions of Health awards honor organizations and individuals who are making a difference in the health of Oklahomans.  It recognizes the organizations, projects and programs that work to overcome Oklahoma’s negative health statistics. OSU Chief Wellness Officer Dr. Suzy Harrington accepted the award on behalf of OSU. 

Speakers at the gala included Governor Mary Fallin, and keynote speaker, Oklahoma native and Major League Baseball Hall of Famer Johnny Bench. The gala benefited the Oklahoma Caring Foundation, an organization that provides Oklahoma children with immunizations at no charge.

Oklahoma State University is honored by the award and will continue to enrich the lives of employees, students and communities by being America's Healthiest Campus®.

The Champions of Health awards were created with the idea that our state can do better. By recognizing those doing good work and encouraging others to follow their lead, Champions of Health seeks to “move the needle” by forming partnerships to address Oklahoma’s health challenges. This is accomplished with the help of the coalition partners including:
