Oklahoma State University names new Director of Housing and Residential Life

Oklahoma State University has named Dr. Leon McClinton, Jr. as new director of Housing
and Residential Life.
McClinton comes to Stillwater from Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Va., where
he served as director of residence education. He brings more than 20 years of residential
life experience to OSU, working in a variety of capacities at Clemson University,
Eastern Kentucky University, Virginia Tech and Old Dominion.
He earned three degrees from Clemson, a Bachelor of Science degree in textile management,
a Master of Human Resource Development and a Doctor of Philosophy in educational leadership.
McClinton has been the recipient of numerous honors and awards, including the 2014
Excellence in Teaching Award presented by the National Society of Leadership and Success.
He has been actively engaged in a wide variety of associations, organizations and
activities.
“I feel extremely fortunate to be serving Oklahoma State University as the Director
of Housing & Residential Life,” said Dr. McClinton. “I look forward to working with
our professional and student staff that are committed to providing the highest quality
of services, from promptly responding to students’ needs to offering community experiences
that will enhance the overall collegiate experience.”
