OSU alumna to be featured on Rachael Ray Show

Thursday, March 12, 2015

Alee Gossen of Edmond, an Oklahoma State University alumna who graduated in 2008 with a degree in political science, will be featured on Monday, March 16’s episode of the Rachael Ray Show as part of the Bracket, Lunch and Dinner Cook-Off.

Gossen first contacted the show in 2010 when she sent in the story of how she met her husband, Adam, at an OSU basketball game. Adam, who is also from Edmond, graduated from OSU in 2007 with a degree in biosystems engineering.  After seeing that she was an Oklahoma State fan, the show reached out to see if she’d like to be part of this college basketball show.

“The Rachael Ray show has been one of my favorite shows for years," Gossen said. "I have watched her ever since she started with '30 Minute Meals' on the Food Network. Getting to go on her show and meet her was really a dream come true.“

The challenge is a cook-off in which four college super fans have 30 minutes to prepare one of their favorite game day dishes . The winner of the cook-off will win two tickets to this year’s NCAA Men’s Basketball Final Four in Indianapolis, with the other three contestants receiving a 55-inch LG 4K ULTRA HD Smart TV.

For her meal, Gossen prepared Gallagher-Iba Guacamole, Cowboy Queso and Slam Dunk Salsa, to go along with her Pistols Firing Fajitas. The dishes were taste tested by former Duke and NBA star Grant Hill.

“The whole experience was very surreal,” Gossen said. “I still can't believe I had the opportunity to go on her show, and I am very grateful for the entire experience.”

The show can be seen Monday, March 16 at 11 a.m. on KFOR (OKC) and KTUL (Tulsa) and at 9 a.m. on KJTL (Lawton). For more information about Gossen’s appearance, contact Paige Landsem from The Rachael Ray Show at 917-332-3155 or paige.landsem@cbs.com
