Regents select architects and construction managers for several OSU projects
Friday, April 24, 2015
The OSU/A&M Board of Regents today selected architects and construction management firms to help with the design and construction of several projects at Oklahoma State University.
Regents selected Kinslow Keith Todd of Tulsa and Lippert Brothers of Oklahoma City to design and construct an expansion to the Fire Protection Publications Office for the College of Engineering, Architecture and Technology.
The facility will be located northwest of the existing building in the far northwest side of campus and is expected to cost between $2 to $2.5 million.
Also selected was GH2 Architects of Tulsa and Lippert Bros. of Oklahoma City for an expansion and renovation of the Dairy Center, which is located in the Dairy Barn on McElroy Road west of the OSU-Stillwater campus.
The Dairy Barn, which was built in 1948, was upgraded in 1987 and now needs a major overhaul to allow OSU to regain a competitive edge. The renovated facility will include an improved free-stall barn, feeding and milking facilities, as well as living quarters for students who care for the herd. A $2 million gift from the Ferguson Family Foundation is expected to cover the cost of the project.
Regents also approved the architect and construction manager for the new Oklahoma Foundation Seed Stocks facility. On-call architectural firm McFarland Architects and on-call construction manager at risk Nabholz Construction will assist with the project.
The estimated cost of the proposed facility is $4 million and the majority of the cost will come from private donations. Foundation Seed provides producers across the region with new and improved seed varieties to create more efficient, higher yielding crops. The new facility will replace the existing facility that is dated and cannot meet the current and projected demands.
