Student Government Association holds college senate elections; encourages OSU students to vote
Monday, November 9, 2015
Polls will open for the Oklahoma State University Student Government Association college senate elections 8 a.m. Tuesday.Students may vote online until 5 p.m. Wednesday, or at the booth near the Chi-O clock from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday Nov. 10 and Wednesday Nov. 11.
The number of senators a college receives is dependent on the size of the each college. Senators represent the voice of each academic college and help promote issues that bring improvements to OSU, said Kyle Hilbert, SGA president.
“It is important to have representation by all of the colleges in order to ensure every group of students has a voice,” Hilbert said.“It is important for students to vote because these positions are of extreme importance and do make a difference on campus. Voting is the students’ way to give their direct input into our representative student government.”
Elected senators will begin in January and will serve a two-semester term.
