CEAT names new W.W. Allen Scholars

Alexis Vance, Leawood, Kan., and Savannah Robisch, Fulshear, Texas, have been selected for the prestigious W.W. Allen Scholars Program at Oklahoma State University. The program is designed for top academic students, who also show significant promise in leadership and career ambition.
The W. W. Allen Scholars program was formed to develop some of the nation's top engineering graduates. This elite award includes more than $104,000 in scholarship, enrichment activities, professional development, and national and international travel, followed by full tuition and housing for one year to pursue a Master of Philosophy at the University of Cambridge in the United Kingdom.
Vance is a senior at Blue Valley High School in Overland Park, Kan., and plans to major in chemical engineering at OSU. She serves on her school’s varsity girl’s golf team, varsity speech and debate team and in involved in the equestrian club. She is a member of several honor societies, including the National Honor Society and Mu Alpha Theta Math Honor Society. She is also a National Merit commended scholar and AP scholar.
Robisch will graduate from Obra D. Tompkins High School in Katy, Texas, and is planning to study chemical engineering at OSU. She was inducted into the National Art Honor Society this year and helped establish the first National Honor Society at her high school. She has participated in the Future Business Leaders of America regional competition and moved on to the state level, and she is also a recipient of the Falcon Golf Award.
Vance and Robisch will join the existing W.W. Allen Scholars in fall 2016.
“I am pleased to welcome two new outstanding engineering students to our W.W. Allen Scholars Program,” says W. Wayne Allen, scholarship founder. “We hope to give them leadership opportunities while at OSU, plus provide top-level foreign education experiences. Our goal is to prepare them to be as successful personally and professionally as they are academically.”
